Pat is now a goalkeeping consultant at the club and is still out there where it matters, on the training ground at Spurs Lodge, come rain, wind or shine...

IT'S BEEN great to see our form pick up since Christmas. It was a terrific draw up at Manchester City on Sunday and we'll all settle for bringing them back to White Hart Lane for a replay. City are dangerous though. Just look at Fowler and Anelka - those two can win matches on their own any day of the week. They are blowing a bit hot and cold this season but they are capable of winning matches.

WITH that in mind, we can't all assume that we're just going to win the replay at the Lane. It's still even. We've an amazing draw if we win, Manchester United away, so from their point of view it's a great incentive. I'm confident we can do it though. I certainly believed we could come back after going behind at City whereas at one time we might have gone under. We came back strongly and could have won it.

FULHAM are a good side, well organised. Again, they were blowing a bit hot and cold under Tigana last season but Chris Coleman seems to have toughened them up a bit. They are well organised, particularly good midfield. They should have beaten Everton in the FA Cup last weekend but Everton scored in the last minute. It's another tough game but we're on a decent run ourselves and hopefully we can continue it on Saturday.

I'VE ALWAYS been impressed with Edwin Van Der Sar at Fulham. He's a big lad, 6ft 5" I think and a very good all-round goalkeeper. It says a lot that Maik Taylor, the Northern Irish keeper, has gone to Birmingham on loan because I think Maik is a great keeper.

THE REPLAY against City follows Fulham on Saturday and for me, the FA Cup is still the best club competition in the world. You just have to keep in there. Look at Scarborough against Chelsea, the handball and a big claim for a penalty, the half-chance - Chelsea had a bit of luck there. You just have to win the games. That's the magic of the cup. I remember having to go to a few places like that in my career, too many to recall. We went to Bradford one afternoon when they were still in the Third Division and we just about scraped through. People always get excited when the FA Cup comes around at Spurs and now we've drawn United, everyone is talking about that. All I'll say is let's get City out of the way first.

Until next time, Pat
