Big night for Bale

Gareth Bale is hoping a positive result against Scotland tonight could spark a revival for Wales.

The flying winger is in the Wales squad for what could be a cracker in World Cup qualifying, a British derby against Scotland at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Having won four of five internationals this time last year, Wales are now on a run of five-successive defeats in all competitions, including losses against Belgium and Serbia in the first two matches of World Cup qualifying.

With Scotland on two points from two matches in what could be a tight group, much rests on tonight’s encounter.

“It’s a massive game and one we definitely need to win,” said Gareth.

“We’re at home, the fans will be behind us and hopefully we’ll get the right result.

“We came off the end of last year on a great run, now we’re losing, but a game like this could spur us on and get us back to where we were.”
