"I am pleased with our fighting spirit because when it was difficult, we stuck together," said a delighted Jacques afterwards. "That was very important.
"Birmingham are a good team with good players. I thought Jesper Gronkjaer was a threat down the right and their strikers were very impressive.
"I know my team is tired but we played together. We have a young team with new players and to have that fighting spirit is good news for the future.

Victory over Birmingham City completed our first four games unbeaten under our new coaching regime and lifted us into third place on Saturday night.
Bolton overtook us by beating Liverpool on Sunday so we now sit in fourth spot.
We now have a two-week break for World Cup qualifiers before our next Premiership game at home against Norwich City on Sunday September 12, a televised game kicking-off at 4.05pm.
"We've played four games now and have eight points which makes me very happy considering the preparation we've had," he said.
"It's been a difficult period for this young team with many new players but they have put together four good performances.
"The team is very tired because we put in a lot of effort at Newcastle and West Brom and it's good to have eight points at this stage. We have also showed lots of fighting spirit which is important for the future."
