BENTY LOOKS TO BOUNCE BACK

Darren Bent is focused on bouncing back from Sunday’s 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle United as quickly as possible.

Darren Bent is focused on bouncing back from Sunday’s 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle United as quickly as possible.

The striker scored his eighth goal of the season before our visitors hit back at The Lane to record their second straight victory in the Barclays Premier League.

But Darren feels the clash was not as one-sided as the scoreline suggests, which is why he is remaining positive with six games left to play.

He said: “I think we had more than enough chances and started off quite well, but it just wasn’t meant to be. I guess we relaxed and they punished us.

“Even after we conceded the equaliser, I was still confident we could get something from the game, but hopefully we can put things right next week. We’ve certainly got the players to do that.

“On a personal note, I’d be happy with double figures for the season considering I missed a lot of games through injury. But the main thing is that we bounce back as a team.”
