Tim Sherwood insists the players are determined to do the club proud in tonight's Europa League Round of 16, second leg against Benfica.
Trailing 3-1 from the first leg, Tim and the players know full well that we face an uphill task against a team running away at the top of the Portuguese Premeira Liga.
Benfica are unbeaten since November in all competitions - 22 matches, winning 20 - and were unlucky to drop out of the Champions League after picking up 10 points in the group stage.
The task is made even tougher with a number of players out, but Head Coach Tim says the squad in Lisbon will give everything.
"We've got an uphill task but we have be optimistic and hopefully we can do the club proud," Tim told Spurs TV.
"We want to keep as solid as we can and have a threat on the break. We were disappointed at the Lane because they scored from two goals from set-pieces and that was difficult to swallow.
"We’ve come this far in the competition and we owe it to the fans who have travelled over and the Spurs fans who will watch on TV to do ourselves justice. That’s all I can ask of the players.
"We’re not coming here to be lambs to the slaughter, we want to put up a fight. There is nothing more we’d like than to turn this tie around and we’ll give it everything."
