Ben on Blondel alert
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Ben Bowditch is looking forward to England's crucial encounter with Belgium and the prospect of pitting his wits against new Spur Jonathan Blondel in the UEFA under-19 Championships.
Blondel is set to return to the Lane when the Championships are completed, but has an early chance to assess one of his new team-mates this afternoon.
"We'll be up against my new team-mate Jonathan Blondel tonight," Commented Ben.
"We haven't seen him at the club yet so today will be the first time I get to meet him. I'm not sure if he knows who I am so it should be an interesting one."
With England on one point following the opening game 3-3 draw with Germany and Belgium yet to secure a point following defeat against Ireland, today's game could go a long way to deciding who qualifies for the final which takes place on Sunday.
"The boys feel pretty confident. We know we've got a good team - one of the best here. It's now just a case of proving it," explained the 18-year-old holding midfield player.
"It's also going to be a bit of a battle against Ireland on Friday because all of the boys from both teams know eachother from English club football.
"That will be a really keenly contested match whatever is resting on it. There will be a lot of pride at stake. I think it's all going to go down to that game. It feels like it's been written already."
England take on Belgium this afternoon at 5pm English time, 6pm local time. We then play the Republic of Ireland at the same time on Friday.
