Ben amongst new generation of Kick It Out Ambassadors

Tue 03 February 2015, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Ben Davies is continuing his role as a 'Next 20' Ambassador for Kick It Out as we highlight our support for the campaign this week.

Ahead of Saturday’s match with Arsenal, the Club is raising awareness of a number of initiatives designed to promote equality and tackle all forms of discrimination within the game.

While at previous club Swansea City, left-back Ben signed up to the ‘Next 20’ initiative, that sees 20 young football stars from across the Premier League, Football League and Women’s Super League spreading key messages of equality and inclusion.

The scheme gives the ambassadors the opportunity to raise awareness of Kick It Out by engaging with the younger members of their local community.

As part of this role, Ben sat in on a workshop delivered by Kick It Out for students at Nightingale Academy secondary school in Edmonton, answering a number of questions about his career to date and offering his thoughts on equality and inclusion.

He said: “The whole idea of Kick It Out is to tell people about the importance of equality and diversity. As players we can help to drive this message home to young children by coming and speaking to them at activities like today.

“By educating younger people earlier, they can help us put a stop to all types of discrimination. The pupils at Nightingale listened to what we had to say and seemed to recognise why equality and inclusion is so important.”

Ben and the rest of his team-mates will show their support for Kick It Out prior to Saturday’s match against Arsenal, warming up in campaign t-shirts.
