Bayer Leverkusen 0-0 Spurs - man of the match revealed
19 October 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Our supporters recognised Hugo Lloris for his fine contributions to Tuesday night’s draw with Bayer Leverkusen by naming him Man of the Match.
The French international goalkeeper and skipper was in inspired form in Germany, particularly in the second half as he pulled off a string of saves to keep the scoreline at 0-0.
His crowning moment arrived a few minutes after the interval when he performed something resembling a combat roll across his own goal-line, sweeping the ball along with him, to somehow prevent Javier Hernandez’s close-range shot from going in when the former Manchester United man seemed destined to score.
Here’s what he had to say on Spurs TV after what was our third UEFA Champions League outing of the season…
MAN OF THE MATCH – BAYER LEVERKUSEN AWAY
Hugo Lloris – 76%
Victor Wanyama – 15%
Jan Vertonghen – 9%
