Lee Barnard makes his long-awaited return to the reserve squad for this afternoon's (Monday) clash against Chelsea at Aldershot FC.

Top scorer in the Barclays Premiership Reserve League last season, 'Barney' is set for his first appearance this time around after recovering from the ankle problem that has troubled him since pre-season.

His performances earned a call into the first team towards the end of last season and he was back in the first team picture in pre-season when injury struck.

"It's been a terrible time for him," said development coach Clive Allen. "He's had a couple of setbacks but worked so hard in training and now he's back in a position where he can play again.

"It's been great to see him back in training and we've missed him, without a doubt - take a 20-goal striker out of any team and you'll find him hard to replace."

Kick-off this afternoon is 2pm.

Squad: Alnwick, Forecast, Ifil, C Lee, Mills, Martin, Hughton, Hutton, McKenna, Livermore, Hutchins, O'Hara, Hallfredsson, Barcham, Barnard.
