Bale: 'Let's stick together'

Gareth Bale believes togetherness amongst the team will be the key in helping us recover from a disappointing start to the season.

Gareth Bale believes togetherness amongst the team will be the key in helping us recover from a disappointing start to the season.

Juande Ramos' men are still looking for their first victory of the campaign after defeat at the hands of Aston Villa on Monday night leaves us at the bottom of the Barclays Premier League with four games played.

But Gareth, who put in an outstanding shift against Martin O'Neill's side, has cited the importance of team spirit ahead of Thursday's UEFA Cup opener with Wisla Krakow at The Lane.

The Welshman is looking for a much-needed kick-start to our season when we meet the Polish side, but he first took time to comment on the Villa defeat.

"It's very frustrating," he said. "We wanted to get on top straight away and we didn't. We just have to stick together and pull through this as a team now.

"We'll never give up because the team spirit will always be there. But we have to work together and battle hard to get a win under our belts.

"Another game so soon after a defeat like this is important because we need to get things right on the pitch. Hopefully this can start our season off.

"Wisla will be another tough game so we will have to be at our best. If we play well, we can get that result."
