Award for The Lane book
25 May 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
The Lane, the club’s critically-acclaimed book on the history of White Hart Lane, was last night named Best Illustrated Book at the prestigious Cross Sports Book Awards 2017, which were presented at a glittering ceremony at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Already a huge bestseller in Spurs shops, the official club publication, written by Adam Powley and Martin Cloake in conjunction with Jim Drewett (editor) and Doug Cheeseman (art editor) and published by Vision Sports Publishing (VSP), was described by judges as "a beautiful book that captures the heart and soul of a historic and much-loved sporting location, taking the reader on a journey through its history and providing a fitting tribute to all those who played on its hallowed turf."
Packed with stunning photographs, historical anecdotes and the memories of Spurs legends – past and present – who have graced the famous pitch, The Lane is the perfect souvenir of White Hart Lane as we say goodbye to our world-famous stadium and move into an exciting new era in N17.
