Arsenal vs Spurs - betting preview with Betfred

Fri 03 January 2014, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

This is the first FA Cup meeting between Spurs and Arsenal for 21 years.

Their first meeting this season ended 1-0 to the Gunners but having just won at Old Trafford, Spurs will be looking for a win.

Spurs have scored at least three goals in their last five FA Cup Third Round matches but they’ve not won away at a fellow Premier League team in the Cup since beating Reading at this stage in 2008.

Further back however, they’ve lost just five of their last 15 trips to top-flight teams in the Cup (excluding replays) with seven ties being taken back to White Hart Lane after being drawn.

Arsenal haven’t been knocked out at this stage for 18 years and they’ve lost just one of their 20 home games against fellow Premier League sides since 1993.

However, ignoring replays they have drawn eight of 18 home Cup matches against top-flight sides in this time, with nine being level at half-time.

Since 2011-12 Arsenal have won just seven out of 16 home Premier League games against top six sides while 10 of those matches have been level at the break.

Spurs, meanwhile, have lost just three of their last 21 away league games and, knowing their chances will improve significantly if they can take the game to a replay, the Draw looks great value at 5/2.
