Armstrong to face Town

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

International call-ups have hit Chris Hughton’s plans for Tuesday’s FA Premier Reserve League encounter against Ipswich Town.

Ledley King and Luke Young, who arguably wouldn’t have played anyway, have linked-up with England Under-21s while youngster John Jackson, who definitely would have featured, is with England Under-18s.

Nevertheless Chris will again field a youthful-looking outfit with a blend of experience from Chris Armstrong (pictured), who is back in Premiership action and goalkeeper Ian Walker.

Willem Korsten will play up front again and the likes of Gary Doherty, Alton Thelwell, Anthony Gardner, Simon Davies and Matthew Etherington should all feature.

Boss Chris commented: “Ledley and Youngy are away and John Jackson, who has played a couple of times for me at left-back and would have played again, is with England Under-18s.

“But we’re not too far away from the squad we’ve had out for the last couple of games.

“Chris Armstrong will be involved again because he needs the games with Willem Korsten and the likes of Doherty, Etherington, Davies and Alton Thelwell comes back after missing the last game.”

Ipswich are expected to name ex-Spur John Scales in their side which could also feature Wembley hero Richard Naylor and first team regular Manuel Thetis.

And just to remind fans — Tuesday’s fixture is at St Albans FC, not White Hart Lane. Kick-off is 7.30pm.
