Anthony's FAYC delight

Anthony Georgiou scored twice – but felt Ismail Azzaoui’s goal was key to our 3-1 victory against Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup at White Hart Lane on Monday night.
Anthony opened the scoring after 20 minutes but despite territorial advantage and creating more chances, the lads found themselves level at half-time after Marcus Rashford curled home a free-kick to level with United’s only shot on target.
Undetered, we got into our stride in the second half and restored our advantage with a fine goal on 62 minutes as Josh Onomah broke from deep, played a one-two with Anthony and then found Ismail, who calmly chipped his finish over Dean Henderson.
Anthony then latched onto Kyle Walker-Peters’ pass, burst into the box and slotted home for 3-1 and that’s how it stayed as we progressed to the quarter-finals and a tie at Nottingham Forest.
“It’s probably the biggest game of the season for us, a huge match, the FA Youth Cup is a big tournament and everyone was excited,” said Anthony.
“It was tight to start with but after we went 2-1 up we controlled the game.
“The second goal gave us more confidence, we knew we could build from there and try to kill the game off. We found our rhythm from there and at 3-1 we were in control.
“We also defended well and stopped their threat. It was a good performance and to score twice was great. I’m very happy.”
