Another golfing success for Legends!
08 September 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
Some of our legendary former players picked up their clubs and took to the fairways to regain the Charles Newman Trophy in their annual battle at Chigwell Golf Club on Thursday.
Featuring a host of stars from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, the legends prevailed against a team of Spurs fans from the Essex course, winning four-and-a-half to three-and-a-half.
Ossie Ardiles, Clive Allen, Paul Walsh, Micky Hazard, Cliff Jones, John Pratt, Martin Chivers, Steve Sedgley, Ray Clemence, John Lacy, John Moncur, Mark Falco and Paul Miller all took to the course, along with guest players Steve Lomas, Paul Coyte and Brian Stein.
Indeed, Moncur was the outstanding performer of the day with fine wins also for the pairs of Hazard and Pratt, Clemence and Falco, and Walsh and Sedgley.
Team captain Ossie joined secretary 'Maxi' Miller to collect the trophy from Charles Newman afterwards, with the legends now having won the competition three times in the last four years.
