Another goal-den day for ton-up Harry
20 December 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
It was the perfect day for Harry Kane at St Mary’s.
The striker celebrated reaching the 100-appearance milestone for the club with the opening goal of an impressive 2-0 victory against Southampton.
His 47th in a Spurs shirt was certainly one of his best as the England hitman was found bravely by Dele Alli, who took a big hit to poke the ball to him, before darting between two men, past Virgil Van Dijk and slotting home.
Dele added a quickfire second and we in control from there.
“It’s a proud moment to make my 100th appearance for the club, very special and to win and to score makes it all the more special,” said Harry.
Determined to bounce back from last week’s loss against Newcastle, Harry admitted we pinned back in the early stages.
“We were disappointed with the start to be honest,” he said. “We wanted to come out and put our stamp on the game but credit to Southampton, they matched us maybe even bettered us and made it tough.
“We hung in there, started playing our football and scored two goals in quick succession and that killed the game off. We were in control from there.
“The fans were fantastic again and we’re all delighted to send them home happy with a win.”
