'Amazing' Ade

Harry Redknapp praised Emmanuel Adebayor for 'setting the tone' in Saturday's 5-0 win against Newcastle.

The striker went on the rampage down the right-hand side in the opening minutes and set-up both goals as we raced ‌into a 2-0 lead with just six minutes on the clock.

He went on to claim an assist in all four goals as we led 4-0 at half-time and then scored the goal his performance deserved in the second half to complete a memorable afternoon at the Lane.

It was another positive day as we stretched our sequence to just two defeats in 23 games in the Premier League.

Chelsea suffered a 2-0 loss at Everton and we're now 10 points clear of Arsenal and Chelsea in third place.

"We played some great stuff and Adebayor set the tone in that first 20 minutes, he was amazing," reflected Harry.

"He was absolutely on fire and the movement up front was fantastic with Saha.

"They were a real threat and Newcastle couldn't handle them.

"Every time we played the ball forward we caused them problems. The goals came early and that put us in a great position.

"The game would have done Ade the world of good. He was fantastic."
