Alex Pritchard has been shortlisted for the prestigious Young Player of the Year Award at the Football League Awards.

Presented to the best player in The Football League under the age of 21, Alex is just one of three players shortlisted alongside Will Hughes of Derby and Liam Moore of Leicester City.

Academy graduate Alex, 20, who scored six goals in 10 starts for our Under-21 last term, joined Swindon Town on a season-long loan in July and his performances for the Robins have caught the eye.

The attacking midfielder has scored seven goals and claimed a number of assists in 37 appearances in all competitions as his team bid for a place in the play-offs in League One.

Previous winners of the award include Gareth Bale, Wilfried Zaha and Thomas Ince last season.

The shortlists were drawn up by a panel of judges that included sponsors, media and members of The Football League.

The FL Awards take place at The Brewery, London, this Sunday.
