Alan joins Hall of Fame

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Alan Mullery MBE spoke of the honour to be joining the greats in our Hall of Fame after his induction on Thursday night.

The former Spurs captain was joined by his former team-mates Martin Chivers, Raph Coates and Cliff Jones at the event at White Hart Lane.

"To be in the Hall of Fame at Tottenham Hotspur with so many great players is something special," said 'Mullers' on the night.

"It will go on for ever, long after I've gone, and that means a lot to me.

"I had long playing associations with Spurs and Fulham but Tottenham is particularly in my heart and always will be."

Alan joined the Club in 1964 as an England Under-23 International and went on to receive 35 full international caps including the 1970 World Cup Finals in Mexico.

He made 373 appearances for the Club, scoring 30 goals and was a member of the FA Cup winning Spurs team of 1967 and Captain of the 1971 Football League Cup and 1972 UEFA Cup winning teams.

Meanwhile, an auction on the night - including a retro shirt signed by Alan, a shirt signed by the current squad, a ball signed by Spurs legends and a pair of tickets to the next Hall of Fame featuring Gary Lineker - raised funds for our Football in the Community scheme.
