Ade's Bridge of highs
Emmanuel Adebayor reflected on his outstanding display against Chelsea and insisted: “I’m giving everything.”
The Togo striker produced a man of the match performance in the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, including a contender for goal of the season.
He followed his 50-yard run and 25-yard curler for 1-1 in the first half with a cute flick to set-up Gylfi Sigurdsson’s equaliser 10 minutes from time.
“It’s good to come here, to score a goal, get an assist and get a point for the team,” said Ade at Stamford Bridge.
“Even at 2-1, we had to believe that we had the quality to score. Clint Dempsey came in, Gylfi came in, we know with that quality we can score at any time. In the end we scored late and we wanted the third goal, but it didn’t happen for us."
It was Ade’s fourth goal in the Premier League and seventh of a season disrupted by injury, restricting him to just 24 starts in our 52 matches in all competitions.
“Don’t get me wrong, it’s been a difficult season for me with injuries but I feel I’m getting fitter now and it’s strange, I’m getting fitter and it’s the end of the season,” he added.
“We’ve two games to go and I will give everything I’ve got left in the locker.”
