Emmanuel Adebayor is only looking forward as we prepare for the big Premier League kick-off at West Ham on Saturday.
Fans won’t need reminding that results went against us against the Hammers last season but that’s not a concern for the striker as we head to Upton Park.
“It’s the first game, it's a derby and we all know what happened last season but we’re not here for revenge, we’re here to win football matches,” he said.
“As footballers, we all look forward to the season getting started and pre-season is always hard, you have to run a lot, do a lot of gym work and make sure the body is ready for the Premier League.
“I think we have done well this pre-season and we hope to keep the momentum going. Everyone is ready, we just have to focus and play our game.”
Ade scored 14 goals in 25 appearances last term and hit the target in our final two friendlies against Celtic and Schalke.
“I’m happy with my last two games and now the most important thing is to stay clear of injury - then I think I can perform and as I always said, help the team to win matches.”
