Acid test for Yeates
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
David Pleat suggests Mark Yeates may well go up in his thinking if he passes the acid test of a loan spell at Brighton.
The Irish youngster has impressed throughout his Academy days and continued his progress in the reserves this term.
He's now on a month's loan at Brighton in the 'muck and nettles' of Nationwide football, a traditional testing ground for youngsters hoping to progress through the ranks of Premiership clubs.
Mark made his debut in Brighton's 4-1 defeat against Bristol City last weekend and although disappointed by the result, he received some praise from Seagulls boss Mark McGhee.
"Mark was much better in the second half when he went into the middle (from left midfield)," said McGhee. "He showed what he is all about with his ability on the ball.
"I got a flavour of what I think he can bring to Brighton and I was quite pleased with that."
David is keeping a close eye. "Mark had a game last weekend and I expect will play against Notts County this weekend.
"They already have a small front runner in Leon Knight and how Mark compliments him will be very interesting.
"We'll monitor him again on Saturday and if he does well over the month he'll be more advanced in my thinking.
"You can see boys in training and some do very well amongst senior players but when it comes to 90 minutes in a tough man's game you can see a different side.
"John Jackson may well start a loan at Coventry City and it's good because it gives these players experience at another level.
"We are also delighted with how Stephen Kelly has done at Watford and he'll go to Dubai now with Republic of Ireland Under-20s for the World Championships."
