Spurs U19s 0-1 Norwich City

Pat Holland picked out the late contribution of youngsters Jack Maghoma and Claude Seanla as the positives from this defeat.

In the end a goal just before the break was enough for the visitors to grab the points.

Pat reported: "We had a lot of the ball to begin with, started brightly and could have scored when Michael Malcolm broke into the box and hit the bar.

But we then lost our discipline, started making silly mistakes and gradually it was going to be from our play that we were punished.

That's how it happened, we gave the ball away on the edge of our box, they got it forward quickly, we misread it and they scored. So we went down to the sucker punch.

We started well again in the second half, had a lot of the play but didn't create as much as I would have liked.

Jack and Claude came on, Jack's first game at this level, and they both did well and gave us a lift, so they are the positives.

Spurs U19s: Eyre, Ifil, McKie, Hicks, Foster, Dobson, Watson (Maghoma, 70), Malcolm, Slabber, O'Hara, Francis (Seanla, 75). Unused sub: Hodges.

Wimbledon U17s 1-0 Spurs

Jimmy Neighbour out this disappointing defeat down as a one-off performance.

He reflected: "We didn't play well. Perhaps it was a hangover after the Christmas break and it was our first game back, but that was the same for Wimbledon as well.

"The goal came about five minutes from time, a decent strike from the edge of the box but the warning signs were there.

"We didn't pass the ball well, our movement was poor, we lacked inventiveness and although we didn't perhaps deserve to lose it, we didn't deserve to win it either.

"It's a shame because we did really well on the run up to Christmas, the lads were playing well so I'll give them this one and hope it's a one-off performance.

"Hopefully it will be a wake-up call for them and they'll be back showing what they can do by next weekend."

Spurs U17s: Forecast, Kyriacou, Wright, Lee, Peprah, Welch, Heller (Dawkins, 53), Lewis, Thyer (Riley, 60), Stevens, Daniels. Unused sub: Button.
