Watford U17s 2-4 Spurs

Our Under-17s booked their place in the FAPAL play-offs after a storming start to the second half at Watford.

Trailing 2-1 at the break, Jimmy Neighbour's young side hit back with goals from Claude Seanle - his second of the game - and Danny Stevens (pictured) within three minutes of the restart.

Chris Riley wrapped it up and news soon filtered through of West Ham's defeat at Fulham and second place in the division.

Jimmy reflected: "To be fair to Watford at times they handled the conditions better than us and they went 1-0 up.

"Claude Seanle equalised after 15 minutes but they scored again just before half-time to make it 2-1 and to be fair, we deserved to go in 2-1 down.

"In the second half we came out, were a little brighter, scored two goals in about three minutes and all of a sudden we were 3-2 up.

"Claude hit his second goal just after half-time when he latched onto a ball and finished well and just after that, Danny Stevens went through and shot under the keeper.

"We settled down after that, defended better and created more chances.

"Youngsters Joe Martin and Jamie Davies both came on and did well and the game was good after that.

"We picked up, got on top of them and settled down. We then scored from a corner to make it 4-2, Chris Riley got on the end it to head home.

"Credit to the boys for the comeback, they worked their socks off to get back into it but I thought we lacked a little quality, looked a bit vulnerable and our passing wasn't as good as it has been of late.

"Obviously the good news at the end was we heard that West Ham lost at Fulham which put us in second place in the division and into the play-offs."

Spurs U17s: Forecast, Kyriacou, Wright, Lewis, Welch, Riley, Heller, Mascarhenas (Davies, 70), Seanle (Martin, 70), Barcham (Ahmed, 85), Stevens. Unused subs: Button, Dawkins.

Spurs U19s 0-1 Aston Villa

Pat Holland was pleased with this performance in a match dominated by a strong wind on Saturday.

Indeed, the visiting goalkeeper kept his side in the game with three fine saves, the best denying Phil Ifil (pictured) an equaliser late on.

In the end a scrappy goal in the second half was enough to hand Villa maximum points.

"It was a good performance," said coach Pat. "It was a game dominated by the wind which was very strong and we had in our favour in the first half.

"In fairness, both teams tried to play. We got into some great areas and had maybe three excellent goalscoring chances but the keeper saved all of them.

"You just thought if we got ourselves in front it would be a buffer but the second half favoured Villa and for the first 20 minutes they looked the stronger side with the wind.

"We crept back into though and in the end the goal was a bit unfortunate, a mellee in the area and the lad's just struck it home. We kept going but their keeper made a great save from Phil Ifil right at the end."

Spurs U19s: Eyre, Ifil, McKie, McKenna, Lee, Dobson, Maghoma (Price, 72), Allen, Malcolm, O'Hara, Daniels. Unused subs: Francis, Hodges.
