FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Chelsea Under-18s 0-1 Spurs
Radwan Hamed ensured our Under-18s finished their league campaign in style with a win at Chelsea on Thursday.
The schoolboy striker (pictured left) nodded home in the first half as the lads defended stoutly to secure a third win in their last four league games. Indeed, they've only lost twice since early February.
Coach Pat Holland gave us his rundown on his return to Spurs Lodge. "Chelsea play a similar style to their first team with four at the back, three in midfield, two wide players and a striker on his own.
"They've done that throughout the club so we had an idea of what they were going to do, looked at it tactically and tried to stop the lad in front of the back four getting a lot of the ball. In fairness, both of our strikers worked hard at that but it also means you are defending from the start.
"That's what happened. Chelsea had the majority of the possession and we looked dangerous on the break.
"We got a goal after about 25 minutes, a ball in the box and two headers with Claude Seanla getting his head to it and then Radwan Hamed helping it into the top corner.
"In terms of possession they were in front at that stage but the goal came at a good time for us.
"We kept pegging away and it was good to see Richard Heller (pictured right) back on the left wing and doing well, he had one of his better games which was nice for the lad.
"We just needed to get our possession better and not give it away so easily.
"In the second half they came at us again and it ended up a bit scrappy. We looked tired and it was a case of defending and digging in. We had chances, one cleared off the line and although it wasn't what I would call a smooth performance, Chelsea didn't create too much either.
"We've finished with three wins out of four, Arsenal was a bit of shame but the lads have done alright, dug in and worked hard for each other. You can't ask for more than that really, you just want that little more quality which hopefully will come."
