FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Spurs Under-18s 3-0 Crystal Palace
Our Academy side warmed up for Friday night's big FA Youth Cup semi-final, first leg at Ipswich Town with this convincing victory against Palace.
Five schoolboys featured with David Button starting in goal and Jamie Davis impressing on the right flank.
The outcome never really looked in doubt once Claude Seanla (pictured left) nodded home from close range after a scramble in the Palace box. Jacques Maghoma doubled the lead before half-time and Charlie Daniels completed the scoring with a fine strike in the second half.
Coach Pat Holland reported: "It was a great win with the FA Youth Cup semi-final coming up and with that in mind, we tried to rest some players, so we went with a relatively young side.
"We started well and made quite a few good chances with Jamie Davis very sharp on the right wing.
"We took the lead after a set-piece, a scramble in the box and Claude Seanla got his head to it and nodded it over the line. That was after about 25 minutes.
"Ten minutes later and Jacques Maghoma (pictured right) struck a shot from 25 yards, maybe the keeper should have done better but Jacques hit it well and that was 2-0 at half-time.
"I made a change at half-time with Leigh Mills slotting in for Charlie Lee, who has had a lot of football recently.
"We got our third goal with about 20 minutes left, a terrific goal, good movement and a sweet finish from Charlie Daniels, a left-foot drive at the far post.
"Overall, it was a good afternoon, we used the schoolboys and that has helped us going back into the FA Youth Cup on Friday."
