FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Spurs Under-18s 3-0 Charlton
Charlie Lee ensured our Under-18s got the disappointment of the FA Youth Cup out of their system with a two-goal show in this fine win against Charlton.
He was switched from centre-back to central midfield and responded with two fine strikes from distance as we put together back-to-back league wins just three days after going out of the FA Youth Cup at the semi-final stage.
Claude Seanla also scored to leave coach Pat Holland delighted.
"It was a hard game on Wednesday and a lot of tension and build-up can take it out of you as well, not just playing," said Pat. "Charlton are a strong side, quite well placed in the league and I was delighted with how the lads responded.
"I started with Charlie Lee in midfield and put young Troy Archibald-Henville at the back and Charlie adapted straight away. It may well be his position the further he goes up the ladder.
"We went ahead after 20 minutes when Charlie hit a shot from outside the box, which he's capable of and 10 minutes later, good interplay got Claude Seanla in and he slotted the ball away.
"At half-time I told them 'well done' and it was just a question of whether or not we could hold onto it.
"We had to make a change because Jacques Maghoma picked up an injury so we put John Kyriacou in midfield.
"Towards the end of the game we were starting to look a tired unit but Charlie then scored again, another drive from outside the box. I thought they showed great character and it was a smashing performance in light of what had happened last week."
