Pat Holland took advantage of a weekend's break from league action to play a couple of untried schoolboys in a 3-2 friendly win against Reading.
And the Under-18s coach was impressed with his first views of centre-back Archibald Troy and midfielder Matthew Wells.
Fellow schoolboys David Button, Alex Smith, Jamie Davis and Joe Martin also played while there was a return from injury for striker Claude Seanla.
The lads went into a commanding 3-0 lead thanks to a thunderbolt from Davis and goals from Jamie O'Hara (pictured left) and Charlie Daniels. Reading came back into it late on and pulled two goals back but it was mission accomplished for Pat on the day.
Pat reported: "It was an opportunity to look at some of the schoolboys and two of them I hadn't seen - Matty Wells and Archibald Troy - both did very well.
"First goal ball was knocked back outside the box, Jamie O'Hara got hold of it and hit a 25 yarder that went under the keeper, a good strike on our part but perhaps disappointing for them.
"We went in 1-0 up at half-time and in the second half Jamie Davis got around the outside of their full-back and hit an absolute screamer, top corner, that made it 2-0.
"We then went 3-0 up through Charlie Daniels but some of the schoolboys then got a little tired and Reading got themselves back in the game and it ended 3-2.
"All in all though it was a good exercise, the schoolboys all did well."
Spurs: Forecast (Button, 45), Kyriacou (Smith, 45), Mills (Troy, 45), O'Hara, Riley, Davis, Wells, Martin, Daniels, Thyer (Barcham, 45), Seanla.
