John McDermott had nothing but praise as our Academy side - including three trialists and three Under-16 players - beat Charlton on Saturday.

Joe Martin (pictured right) and Jake Livermore bagged the goals to maintain the lads' third place in Group B of the FA Premier Academy League. They've lost just four games in 25 this season.

Academy manager John reported: "We had three players on trial - goalkeeper Alex Jennings, Ajet Shehu and Andre Blackman and there were some very good performances in there.

"Joe Martin scored with a towering header from a corner after 30 minutes and that topped off one of his best performances, he was the senior player in the back five in a team that included three trialists and three Under-16s and he did very well.

"Jake Livermore scored the second after a counter-attack on about the hour, good work from David Hutton and Jake finished from 12 yards following up the play, a fine goal."

Spurs U18s: Jennings, Adam Smith (Mtandari, 50), Shehu (Fraser-Allen, 70), Martin, Blackman, Kasim, Livermore, Hutchins, Hutton, Olsen (Pekhart, 60), Townsend. Unused subs: Butler, Alex Smith.
