ACADEMY REPORT

John McDermott described the second half performance at Norwich City as our Under-18s' best in his time at the Club.

John McDermott described the second half performance at Norwich City as our Under-18s' best in his time at the Club.

Goalless at half-time in the FA Premier Academy League encounter, the lads ran out 4-0 winners thanks to two headers from David Hutton (pictured) and goals from Tomas Pekhart and Matthew Wells.

The win made it three out of three at the start of the season following victories against Crewe and Blackburn.

Academy manager John reported: "The first half was even in terms of chances, we were up against a strong wind and coming in at half-time we were quite happy.

"Having the wind in your favour can almost be a disadvantage but we played really well in fact, in the 15 months Ive been here, it was probably the best 45 minutes weve played.

"We opened the scoring via Matty Wells following a counter-attack from Jacques Maghoma, he pulled the ball back and it was an excellent finish from 18 yards.

"Jamie Davis did extremely well down the right and created the next two goals both for David Hutton - the smallest player on the pitch - arrived from midfield to score two excellent headers.

"The fourth goal came from Tomas Pekhart, an overhead kick, again from a right-wing cross. It was a super goal. We had more chances and could have scored more goals but the way we dominated possession without showboating was impressive. We were very clinical."

Spurs U18s: Stroud, Smith (Hutchins, 75), Mills, Dervite (Lake, 77), Hughton, Maghoma, Livermore, Davis, Dixon (Wells, 30), Pekhart, Hutton.
