Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Welcome to the section where we place the spotlight on and get up close and ever so slightly personal with the players that are currently attempting to make the professional breakthrough from our Academy system.
Next in the Hotseat is...
Name: Nick Eyre
Age and Academy yeargroup: I'm coming up 18 and play for the under-19s
How did you come to join Spurs?
I started with a local Sunday side and had a couple of trials with other clubs. I was at Ipswich and was a Spurs fan from a young age and got the chance to come along to the ball court at the Lane. I had a trial for a couple of weeks and they said they would sign me.
How did you get on at School?
Not too bad and I did alright in the end. I got the grades that they predicted
Favourite personal footballing moment?
I think it would have to be playing a few games for the reserves in pre-season. It came as a bit of a surprise but, at the time, I was the only one about. People were here and there, Burchy was away with the first team and it gave me the chance to have a few games. I think the goalless draw at Leyton Orient stands out.
Most memorable game for Spurs?
There's been a few at different age groups, but I would say that one as it was against their first team.
Favourite player from boyhood?
I'd have to say Ian Walker. When I was growing up he was just breaking through as No.1 and I wanted to model myself on him. Later on you realise that you've just got to be yourself. It was nice to meet him when I came here.
Favourite current Spurs player?
Favourite non-Spurs player?
I would probably say Peter Schmeichel for what he has done. As he is not playing anymore it has to be Cudicini at Chelsea.
What is your immediate to short-term ambition?
I would like to play all the games for the 19s and do well in the Youth Cup.
To play in our first team - as I have been a fan since I was a little tot.
Are you any good with your wrong foot?
It's getting there - still a swinger, but getting there. It is a weakness and needs working on.
What is the strongest part of your game?
Just being involved in a game really, being able to stay in it when you don't have much to do - making sure everyone stays on their toes.
And the weakest?
I've been working on, but my left side. Sometimes my decisions, but everyone makes wrong ones sometimes.
Anything - I eat anything.
I like Iced Tea actually.
Match of the Day - or whatever it's called these days.
Probably the Green Mile of Dumb & Dumber.
Anything by Michael Jackson or Phil Collins.
