Academy Hotseat - Jamie O'Hara

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Welcome to the section where we place the spotlight on and get up close and ever so slightly personal with the players that are currently attempting to make the professional breakthrough from our Academy system.

Next in the Hotseat is...

Name: Jamie O'Hara

Age and Academy yeargroup: I'm 16 and playing for the under-19s at the moment

From: I'm from Dartford in Kent

Position: Centre midfield

How did you come to join Spurs?
I was at Arsenal for a long while but, in the end, I'm a Tottenham supporter. I've always loved Tottenham and once I decided I wanted to leave this was the only club I wanted to go to.

How did you get on at School?
I was alright but, once I came to Tottenham, I sort of went off the boil a little bit and just wanted to get on with my football.

Favourite personal footballing moment?
Playing my first game for England under-16s against Northern Ireland. I came on at half-time and played probably my best game for England.

Most memorable game for Spurs?
My first goal for Tottenham against Southampton when we won 3-0 at the end of last season. The whole team did well and it was a really good performance - it has to be my best game.

Favourite player from boyhood?
Paul Gascoigne. I used to model myself on his and still try to a bit. I'd love to be like Gazza and if I have as much talent as he had I'll do well.

Favourite current Spurs player?
Jamie Redknapp - he's my sort of player the way he passes the ball about.

Favourite non-Spurs player?
Paul Scholes at this present time. He's a goalscoring midfielder who gets in the box and I like players who get goals.

What is your immediate to short-term ambition?
I am hoping to get in the reserves and get a few starts if I can. If not, play well all season for Pat and try and do well in the Youth Cup.

Ultimate ambition?
I'd love to captain Tottenham Hotspur.

Are you any good with your wrong foot?
Yes I am - and since I've come here I've got better. I've worked on it a lot and Pat gets me working on my right foot all the time.

What is the strongest part of your game?
They say here that it is passing - long-range and quick passing. That and running with the ball, getting past players in midfield.

And the weakest?
Defending! I'm not the best and I've always liked attacking.

I'd have to say Diet Coke.

TV Programme?
The Premiership.

The Gladiator.
