AARON SHINES AGAIN

Aaron Lennon maintained his excellent form on a disappointing night for England Under-21s against Austria.

Aaron Lennon maintained his excellent form on a disappointing night for England Under-21s against Austria.

Making his debut for the Under-21s, Aaron tormented his full-back and was a constant threat in the European Championship qualifier at Elland Road.

He was named man of the match by the Sky Sports team for the second time in three matches having taken the award in our recent Premiership win against Fulham.

Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone also played the full 90 minutes as England slipped to a surprise 2-1 defeat

After a bright start and 1-0 lead at half-time, England failed to capitalise on their territorial advantage and Austria cashed in.

The loss means England can no longer top their group - Germany secured that with a 4-0 win against Wales - and will go into the play-offs as runners-up. Both countries had already booked their play-off places before last night's results and with a game still to go.

The Spurs trio will look for another start when the Under-21s complete their group fixtures against Poland at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.
