AARON ON THE BIG ONE

Aaron Lennon says the players are excited by the prospect of the high stakes encounter with Arsenal on Saturday.

Aaron Lennon says the players are excited by the prospect of the high stakes encounter with Arsenal on Saturday.

There is all to play for for both teams in the last local coming together at Arsenal's home since 1913 - kick-off 12.45pm - and the little winger can't wait to get going.

"All the players are looking forward to it," said Aaron. "It is such a massive game and there is so much at stake now.

"There is such a big rivalry between the clubs and fans and I think it is the biggest game for us since the Premiership started.

"It will be the last derby there so if we can mark it with three points it would be brilliant," he added, before suggesting there are similarities between the two groups of players.

"I've watched them a bit this season in the Champions League and they have got some great young players and a good team spirit.

"We are a similar sort of team with our young players and I think it will be a very close game."

Aaron insists the team will carry no negative thoughts going into the game with the consistency shown this season leading him to believe we can take reward from the fixture for the first time in six seasons.

"I don't think we've feared anyone this season and have put up a fight in every game. We definitely go in there confident looking for the three points.

"It would be unbelievable to score there - especially a winner - but we'll see."
