Aaron 'on another level' - Andre
Andre Villas-Boas says Aaron Lennon has been ‘a credit’ this season.
The flying winger scored the winner with what Andre described as a ‘moment of magic’ at Sunderland on Saturday.
That victory made it six wins and a draw in our last eight games and sees us enter 2013 fourth in the Premier League.
Aaron was to the fore again as we came from behind to win 2-1 at the Stadium of Light.
He set-up chances for Gareth Bale and Jermain Defoe as we fell behind 1-0 in the first half, made the breakaway that led to a free-kick and eventually the equaliser three minutes into the second half and then scored his fine winner four minutes later, rolling the ball past John O’Shea, collecting it the other side and planting home.
“It was a beautiful goal,” said Andre. “It was a moment of magic from Lennon, a player who is a credit.
“This season he’s showing that he’s on another level.
“He signed his contract with us, he’s committed and always gives everything for the team. It was a great goal.
“It was a very important win for us and the players have been immense, both in their desire and ability.”
