A week to remember for young US hopefuls
26 April 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
Eric Dier met a group of young players from the United States during a week-long training camp at Hotspur Way as part of our ongoing work to help develop the game at grassroots level across the world.
The group, aged between 12-15, were selected from last year’s Tottenham Hotspur America Trophy – a youth soccer tournament that takes place in the States annually and is set to expand to two new cities this year.
The America Trophy, which has been running since 2012, sees the Club’s Global Coaching team cast their eye over some of the best young players in North America as they compete in small-sided games.
Top performers are then hand-picked to travel to London and train within our world-class facilities, benefitting from Academy coaching and testing themselves against English opposition - the meeting with England international Dier was an added bonus for the group as he shared his tips on reaching the very top.
