Mauricio Pochettino stated the importance of tonight’s Premier League clash at Leicester City.
The manager is determined to return to winning ways after the derby loss and draw against West Brom on Saturday.
“We want to win,” he said. “We want the three points because it’s important for us to recover our position in the table. It will be be tough because Leicester are a team with good players and now under (manager) Claude Puel they try to play a different way, but with the same values. It will be tough and for us, it’s a massive game.”
Leicester have lost just one in the last seven in the Premier League - leaders City at the KP Stadium - and it was suggested to Mauricio that they may also find extra motivation from our last visit to the KP, when we ran out 6-1 winners in May.
Mauricio added: “Of course, you always keep a little in your mind about the last feeling when you play some teams but this is a different season, everything is different and the game is so important for the three points more than what happened in the past.
“I think for them and for us it’s a massive three points we’re going to play for. Every game is so important and it’s not about what happened in the game before, it’s always about the next game you need to win.”
