A fixture of fate
After signing Hugo Lloris from Lyon last summer, it was only a matter of time until the French goalkeeper faced his former club.
Football has a funny way of creating storylines without the need for digging by journalists. Hugo spent four years at Olympique Lyonnais between 2008 and 2012, winning the French Cup in the process.
Understandably, the 26-year-old was much in demand after the draw was made.
"Yes, I received a lot of calls and messages! I have a lot of friends there still," Hugo told Spurs TV Online in an interview you can watch a segment of on YouTube.
"It’s not easy for me because I have a good relationship with all my ex-team-mates but that is football, that is the life. On the pitch there are no friends. We play for our team and give all the best for our team.
"The objective is to be in the next round. We have ambition in this competition – we want to win."
