This evening marks the first time we've faced FC Sheriff, so here is all you need to know ahead of tonight's Europa League, Group K fixture.
We kick-off at FC Sheriff's impressive Sheriff Stadium and sporting complex in Tiraspol at 6pm UK time, 8pm local.
A FEW FACTS...
Euro story so far - FC Sheriff were initially in the Champions League qualifiers this season. They lost out to Dinamo Zagreb 4-0 on aggregate. They qualified for the group stage of the Europa League by beating FK Vojvodina of Serbia 3-2 on aggregate.
New friends – Tonight marks the first time FC Sheriff have ever met English opponents in UEFA competition.
Draw specialists – Following their 1-1 draw against Tromso IL on Matchday Two, FC Sheriff are one of only three teams to have drawn both their opening games in the group stage of the Europa League this season. The others are Real Betis and Lyon.
In the group – FC Sheriff competed in the group stage of the Europa League in consecutive seasons, between 2009/10 and 2010/11. However, they failed to get beyond the group stage on both occasions, having amassed five points in both seasons.
Staying at home – In both previous ventures into the Europa League group stage, FC Sheriff won one, drew one and lost one of their home games.
Previous visit – Our only previous European encounter with a Moldovan side was against Zimbru Chisinau in the 1999/00 UEFA Cup first round in September 1999. We won 3-0 at home in the first leg and drew 0-0 away in the return.
Last time out – FC Sheriff drew 1-1 away to Zimbru Chisinau on Saturday.
Winning run – FC Sheriff have registered the longest winning run in the Moldovan top flight so far this term, winning nine games in a row.
Title tilt – FC Sheriff have only failed to win the title in one of the last 13 seasons.
Top again – Domestically, FC Sheriff top the Moldovan National Division standings with nine wins from their 12 matches so far. They are four points clear of FC Veris.
Top marksman – FC Sheriff’s 23-year-old Brazilian striker Henrique Luvannor is top scorer in the Moldovan top flight with 10 goals.
Home comfort – FC Sheriff have only lost one of their last 88 home league matches, dating back to August 2008.
