'A difficult game we'll look to win' - Christian

Thu 27 November 2014, 12:05|Tottenham Hotspur

Christian Eriksen says you only have to look at Matchday One to realise we're in for a test against Partizan Belgrade at the Lane tonight.

It was quite a scrap in Belgrade back in September with chances few and far between in a goalless draw to kick-off Europa League, Group C.

Partizan have showed contrasting form in Europe and domestic football since then with seven wins, a draw and defeat to move six points clear of the Serbian SupaLiga.

However, they've yet to win in Group C of the Europa League.

Victory for us will guarantee a place in the knockout stage of the competition with a game in hand and that's the only target for the players tonight.

"We played a difficult match over there and to go through we have to win this game so hopefully we’ll do that," said Christian, who cracked home our late winner at Hull on Sunday.

"Partizan are a good team and they showed that in Belgrade. They had some chances that night, we had a few as well - there weren’t that many big chances in the game - so they will come here with confidence I’m sure with how they are in their league.

"It will be difficult but it's a game we’ll definitely look to win."
