84 for 84
21 October 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Our Europa League pairing with Anderlecht has no doubt sparked memories of our UEFA Cup triumph back in 1984 - and we want our fans' anecdotes from that night of nights for when the Belgian team returns to the Lane on November 5.
Turn the clock back 31 years to May 23, 1984 and our famous old stadium played host to one of the most exciting, nerve-wracking, glory, glory nights in the club's long history.
It was a night that had everything.
Level on aggregate after a 1-1 draw in Brussels, Anderlecht shocked the Lane faithful by taking the lead on the hour.
Thankfully, skipper Graham Roberts was on hand to save the day with an equaliser seven minutes from time and after extra time, Tony Parks was the hero in the penalty shoot-out with two saves to send 45,000 Spurs fans into raptures.
