Victor Wanyama was delighted to play his part in a huge win at Stoke.

It was the kind of battle the Kenyan star relishes as we made it six wins on the trot and 14 matches unbeaten in the Premier League.

“I was glad to be back in the team and we were strong, we kept fighting,” said Victor. “Stoke is always a tough place to go, we had to battle and we were really happy to get the three points.”

The Dier-Dembele combination has been a regular axis in midfield in the Premier League in the last couple of months but Victor stepped back in alongside Mousa at Stoke.

“I’ve been training hard waiting for a chance,” he added. “I did my best. There is still a lot of room to improve.

“It’s tough to stay in this team. The players are all working so hard so when you come back you always have to do well. I’m really happy. I’ll keep on fighting.”
