'Goosebumps' as players step out at new stadium for first time

‘It’s a dream and a privilege to play in front of 62,000 fans’
Captain Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane had a glimpse of our exciting future when they took their first walk out of the players’ tunnel during a visit to look at the progress at our new world-class stadium.
They headed straight to Tottenham after training last week to explore the First Team facilities currently under construction, including the home dressing room and the tunnel itself - making them the first Spurs players ever to walk out of the tunnel at our new home.
As they emerged pitchside, it was clear the pair were blown away by the tight stadium bowl and the close proximity of the stands to the pitch, ensuring our fans will be right on top of the action on matchday.
"Walking out and just seeing how the stands are, it’s incredible, I can’t wait to see it with our fans inside here," said Harry following his first experience standing inside the stadium bowl. "You get goosebumps thinking of all the fans sitting in their seats. It’s going to be amazing and to think we’re not that far away from playing here."
"It’s very impressive and so compact," added Hugo. "When it’s full it’s going to be awesome. We are looking forward - we need a big, big atmosphere in this stadium. It’s going to be very modern, one of the best in Europe and we are lucky to be part of this project."
Thoughts swiftly turned to the prospect of playing the first game inside our new iconic home, which will hold more than 62,000, making it the largest football club stadium in London.
"It’s a dream as a player to play in front of 62,000 home fans and a privilege," Hugo explained. "We’re going to try to share with them great emotion and to share our passion together."
"I remember sitting at White Hart Lane as a fan growing up and watching Tottenham play so to now be part of the team and moving into this big stadium is really exciting," Harry enthused.
"We built a fortress at the old stadium and went unbeaten in the Premier League during our last season there - that was incredible so to think there’s going to be almost double the number of fans singing and celebrating and cheering us on, it’s mind-blowing really. I can’t express how much I’m looking forward to playing here, scoring some goals and seeing the passion on the faces of our fans."
Our Season Ticket Holders will get to see what’s in store inside our new stadium when they receive their renewal packs shortly - keep an eye on our channels this afternoon for more details.
