Ben: "Look forward - that's our mindset"

Wed 04 April 2018, 03:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Ben Davies has explained that delight at Chelsea was soon replaced by drive and focus to repeat that performance at Stoke on Saturday.

The team ended that infamous 28-year wait for a win at Stamford Bridge with an outstanding display and 3-1 victory as we came from behind with a cracker from Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli's double.

The result made it five wins on the trot and 13 unbeaten in the Premier League and most importantly, moved us eight points clear of Chelsea in fourth with seven matches remaining.

A day to remember then, but the attitude from Ben and the squad is that we have to follow up at Stoke.

"Even after our best performances and results, our first thought is always that we’re back in training the next day and focusing on the next game," said the Welsh international.

"There is not a lot of time to wallow in how good a result it was. Of course, Chelsea was a great feeling and you can feel that around the place but that game has gone now and the focus is very much on the next game at Stoke.

"It’s all about being ruthless now and if we want to stay in the top four and push on we have to go there and win.

"That’s the mentality at the moment. Chelsea is forgotten about now and it’s straight on to Stoke next, putting in another good performance and picking up another good result.

"We want that three points and we’ll do all we can to get it. Beating Chelsea last week will mean nothing if don’t go and perform well at Stoke. We have to kick on again, make sure we’re ready and be as professional as we can."
