Baggies boss on Harry Kane and Albion team news

04 May 2018|Tottenham Hotspur

West Brom caretaker manager Darren Moore has praised Harry Kane ahead of Saturday's clash at The Hawthorns, but has warned his players that our England striker isn't the only man they need to contain.

Former Baggies defender Moore has overseen a resurgence in form for the Premier League's bottom markers since taking over from Alan Pardew at the start of April, with his side claiming two wins and two draws to give themselves a real morale boost after a difficult campaign which has left them fighting for their lives in the top flight.

Albion have to beat us this weekend to keep themselves in with a mathematical chance of avoiding relegation and Moore has emphasised that dealing with the threat of Harry will go some way to allowing them to do that.

“He’s an excellent player,” said Moore, who was at Wembley to watch us beat Watford 2-0 on Monday night. “I’m sure if Harry was up here now he would be saying that a lot of his fortune comes from having wonderful players around him who contribute to his effectiveness.

“We all know the threat he possesses. On Saturday we are going to have to be at our very best to deal with Harry and also his team-mates around him.

Spurs are a top team and it’s going to be a really difficult test for us, however, we are really looking forward to the game.

Moore also confirmed that James Morrison and Gareth Barry are the only two expected absentees from his side.

“We’ve got more or less a full-strength squad to choose from for the game against Spurs,” he added. “The only two that will be missing are James Morrison and Gareth Barry. Apart from those two everyone is available for selection.”

Kick-off at The Hawthorns is at 3pm.
