'We aim to win - nothing else matters'

Eric Dier says the team’s sole focus is victory at Newcastle on Sunday.
One point should be enough to secure second place in the Premier League with Arsenal two points adrift but 13 goals behind on goal difference. They take on Villa at home.
A lot of talk this week was how we might face a Newcastle side fighting for Premier League survival but their relegation fate was sealed when Sunderland beat Everton on Wednesday night.
Eric , however, remains distanced from matters outside our control.
“We want to go to Newcastle and win, nothing else matters,” said the midfielder.
“People are talking about this result or that result, it doesn’t matter.
“Once we’re on the pitch and we start playing the attitude is that we want to win every game, and it wouldn’t matter if we were 10 points clear in second or level on points. Once we’re on the pitch, that mentality takes over, so it’s irrelevant what is happening elsewhere. We just want to go there and win.”
Eric described ‘a massive determination’ to finish the job off after such an impressive campaign.
“Once you can no longer get first place, you aim for the next best,” added Eric, who has started 36 of our 37 matches in the Premier League and 49 of our 52 in all competitions.
“We want to finish as strongly as possible. I’m sure our away fans will be there for us as they have been all season and we want to give them something to cheer about.
“Everyone was disappointed that the season didn’t have the right send off in terms of result at White Hart Lane, now we need to win this game and give the fans something to cheer about. We need to finish on a high note.”
