Spurs v West Brom - magic moment
23 April 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
One goal, three milestones - and a moment of history for Jermain Defoe just over five years ago.
It was a typical Defoe strike, weaving this way and that before striking low and home from 25 yards in a 2-2 draw against the Baggies on April 23, 2011.
Rarely can one goal have chalked up so many milestones.
Most importantly, it was Jermain's 100th goal for the club and made him only the 16th player to reach a century of goals in our 134-year history. JD ended his Spurs career with 143 goals in 363 appearances, placing him fifth on our all-time list.
At the same time, it was our 1,000th goal in the Premier League and if that wasn't enough, it was also Jermain's 100th Premier League goal in spells at West Ham, ourselves and Portsmouth. He's still going at Sunderland - and now up to 141.
