One last push - Hugo

11 May 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris is ready for one last challenge - with a determination from the squad to give an outstanding Premier League campaign the finale it deserves at Newcastle on Sunday.

A top three place is already in the bag and we need a point at St James’ Park to secure second place - our highest league finish since 1963.

Newcastle were relegated after Sunderland’s win against Everton in midweek but skipper Hugo insists the Toon’s predicament will not enter into our thinking.

“We need to focus on ourselves, ready to put on another good team performance,” said the goalkeeper who has started 36 of our 37 matches in the Premier League.

“It would be a big disappointment if we don’t finish second. We all want that now.

“We’ve been there for so long that we really deserve it but sometimes  you don’t get what you deserve in football - we need to go out and show it on the pitch. It’s one more battle for us.”
