Newcastle v Spurs - magic moment
13 May 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Thimothee Atouba only scored one goal in his Spurs career - but what a memorable one it was!
The Cameroon international was snapped up in August, 2014 from FC Basel and went on to make 23 appearances under Jacques Santini and then Martin Jol in 2004-05.
His one goal came early, indeed, our second game of the campaign at St James' Park.
It was a wonderful strike to secure a 1-0 win - and described perfectly by the man himself below.
"This goal is one of the best of my life," said Thimothee. "I remember it well. It was a counter-attack, Jamie Redknapp passed me the ball on the left, I stepped inside the right-back and I was just thinking 'finish it off' because when you make a move like that, you need to do something even if it doesn't come off. Thankfully, I curled the ball into the corner. It was a great moment for me."
Thimothee went on to play for Hamburg, Ajax and Las Palmas and earned 42 caps for Cameroon.
