DeAndre Yedlin helped Sunderland climb out of the Premier League relegation zone with a hard-earned point at home to Arsenal on Sunday.
The US international, a regular feature at right-back for Sam Allardyce’s men in recent months, was once again present and correct as the two sides battled out a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light.
The result saw Sunderland move into 17th place in the table, above Norwich City on goal difference.
Elsewhere, Grant Ward played his part as Rotherham United secured Championship survival with a goalless draw at Wolves on Saturday. The midfielder completed the full 90 minutes.
Dominic Ball and Federico Fazio were unused substitutes for their respective loan clubs. Dominic’s Rangers were held 1-1 at home by Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship on Saturday while Federico’s Sevilla won 2-0 at home to Real Betis in Spain’s La Liga the following day.
